Equalizer Septic Shaker Hike a Printed Pizza

Equalizer Septic Pizza

Touring Wolfeboro Through Websites

What do hiking trails, salt and pepper shakers, septic systems, business cards, equalizers, and pizza have in common? If you said Rich Hudson, then you either know me or have a gift for telepathy. Or maybe you just checked out my website because you're thinking about an upgrade.

I was already acquainted with Louis Pizza. Pizza is one of the first things I seek out when I'm new to a town. Since 2015, I've been grabbing large pies and the occasional Baklava from Louis. Louis makes a consistently good pizza.

I never knew Wolfeboro had a mountain

Sally over at Butternuts Good Dishes will do you right if you're looking for quality kitchen-related doodads, homemade treats, and in the summer months, local produce. Butternuts is a great place to go year-round for gifts and for home cooking enthusiasts. I happen to be one of those.

As many times as I've walked the trails in Sewall Woods, along the rail trail to Cotton Valley, and around Fernald, it wasn't until I built the site for the Land Bank of Wolfeboro-Tuftonboro that I learned who was responsible for acquiring and preserving these natural spaces. My dogs thank you, and I thank you. Few things are more enjoyable for this ripening web developer than getting on the trails with my girls. Thanks to Land Bank, I discovered Wolfeboro's mountain. I never knew Wolfeboro had a mountain. It's called White Face and makes for an hour well spent with a view.

Prior to getting acquainted with the Wolfeboro Business Center, I hadn't ventured beyond Louis Pizza, Harvest Market, the car wash, or the liquor store (that is, before I gave up drinking back in 2018). Branch & Bloom is a fine place to pick up some flowers and plants for my wife or my mom. From Scratch Baking makes a seriously good cookie. Another of my clients has an office in the Wolfeboro Business Center too—Sunday Paving & Sealing.

The Kingswood Press has a longer history, going back to 1863. It was owned and operated by the Swaffield Family for over 70 years. Last year, Bill sold it to the new owner, Yvonne. I got to make Yvonne's acquaintance playing cornhole last summer, and wouldn't you know it, my wife and I had the distinction of winning the Toilet Bowl trophy presented to the season's biggest losers. Ah well, it was a good time. Meeting Yvonne was another reminder of how small a town Wolfeboro can be, despite swelling to several times its off-season population during the summer months. I've had some printing work done at The Kingswood Press and can recommend them. Plus, when you enter the reception area, you can sense the history. It's a step into the past while getting print work from digital files.

Are you a music producer with your own studio? I used to be in a band with Eric of Ingram Engineering. He's an electrical engineer and a terrific drummer. We went to Georgia Tech together. He designs high-quality audio equipment made for small and large studios. He's gotten some killer feedback and write-ups for his pre-amps and equalizers over the years.

Time to get your septic pumped? I can recommend DJ's Septic. They've taken care of my system twice over the past nine years. Sarah and Nathan are good folks and very knowledgeable and professional when it comes to caring for your system. My system isn't cheap. I live in a relatively new house with a high-tech, whizz-bang of a waste-managing contraption. Gotta keep those good bacteria de-militarizing the output of all that fine Wolfeboro food that goes in the front end. DJ's is up to the task.

Web development itself is a fascinating endeavor. Aside from the frustrating hours spent debugging and keeping up with the latest best practices, when the inputted data results in the expected output, there's a harmony and majesty akin to the glorious White Mountains. Yeah, I know. I'm laying it on thick. It's more like the relief of knowing that bug was waiting to be found and neutralized. It's a short-lived sense of accomplishment before the next task must be addressed in the syntax of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, third-party APIs, content management systems, DNS pointing, git commands, hosting, c-Panels, child themes, responsive design, Photoshop, and Illustrator. Geez, that's a lotta stuff! But hey, we've got AI now to both simplify and complexify the whole code-a-palooza.
